Our family had the pleasure of staying in the beautiful Lyla yurt this weekend.
From the moment we arrived Assyl and Michael were so helpful, they took our belongings to the yurt while we walked the short distance so we could see the animals along the way. Assyl showed us the key points at the yurt, gave us some animal feed and we were off on our adventure. We met a hilarious goat named Gary, who is definitely the boss in the boys herd. Gary is eager to greet you, and your feed!
My favorite was Eugene, the alpaca, his hairdo was fabulous. The alpacas are so sweet and more cautious than the goats.
The chickens were our son's favorite and we were even lucky enough to hold a freshly laid egg, they are very warm.
We walked along the trail near the river and even spotted where a beaver had been busy working on a tree....then our son pointed out the bever, just swimming along! It was a beautiful day on the farm.
Assyl and Michael are the most genuine, down to earth, and kind people you will ever meet, it felt like we have known them for years. The love for their farm and animals are apparent and inspiring.
We will definitely be back, and we are excited to see all their future plans and hardwork come to fruition, in the years to come.
5 stars all round. Lovely setting for a night away from the city life. Michael has done a great job in creating such a unique experience. Would recommend, even in -10 degrees.
My husband and I stayed here for a night during the pandemic and loved it. It was so nice for a wintery getaway. The wood stove keeps you super toasty and the walk along the almost frozen river was beautiful. The goats and alpacas are super close to the yurts which makes for visits a lot of fun! Overall it was a great experience for our first time in a Mongolian Yurt!
We enjoyed our experience and our stay at Riverside Oasis farm! The yurt had everything we needed (including cookware) and we were warm and comfortable overnight, even when the temperatures dropped closer to 0C. Michael and Assyl were amazing hosts. They kindly answered our questions about farming and showed how much they love their animals! Their cats, Barry and Clyde, are quite the character - keeping us company and entertained the entire weekend. We would definitely stay here again!
This is an amazing (not so) little farm, run by An amazing couple. Meet all the alpacas, goats and (my favourite) Clyde the Cat who loves to assist Assyl and Mike on their farm tour and keep you company. The yurts are so beautiful, and we will be booking them as soon as possible! Thank you both so much for your hospitality. A great place to go for the day.
