Fairly new hence the 4 stars. Lots of technology for students to access and use. Teachers vary, science department definitely needs an improvement. English department is fairly strong and so is gym. Guidance 100% needs improvement- it’s trash. Students are quite diverse.
You have guidance counsellors that are not up to date on university program requirements and knowledge about the programs offered. It’s ridiculous. What they recommend to students is not accurate and it’s definitely not okay to discourage students from doing better. I know someone who was very highly persuaded to take a lower level course when they were doing much better. Shame on you.
Don’t know why they added random courses like Punjabi, need better ones. What about Spanish instead? Pick languages that would benefit the student in the long run. Spanish is national language of many countries including our neighbours, The USA. Other schools around Ontario have courses like economics, why not add that? What about architecture or interior design? What about something related to another career aspect? Students need better opportunities to explore what they want to do in the future. Still don’t know why their accounting course is mixed when it should be university level accredited. Need to be better organized and take a good look at the courses they offer and how it helps students. Most teachers especially math department is very organized in the course structure. GLS IS THE MOST POINTLESS COURSE- that needs the most restructuring... teach some life skills to these students. What are taxes? Who pays them? What’s a mortgage? What’s OSAP? Student assistance programs? What to do in a domestic violence situation? Legal rights? Your rights when a police officer stops you?
Sad to see wonderful teachers go- Mr. Hanna, Mr. Capp, Ms. Maxin, Ms. Brace, Ms. Wilson. Shoutout to these teachers: (not sure if they’re still here)- Ms. Gupta/Rajah, Ms. Dhaliwal, Mr. Jones, Ms. Habibdizah, Mr. Eng, Mr. Law, Ms. Mandavia, Mr. Harrison, Ms. Vassallo. Mr. Singh is a great and understanding VP. And wherever you are Ms. Galen- you were an amazing principal.
Eh, I cant say I like the work, no kid really can. But yeah, It did help me with my studies though. The teachers are fine, not that bad- I only take Math, so I cant say much. But if you are planning to go here, it's a good choice.
Good School. The academics are fine.
School is not that bad tbh, teachers can be anywhere from good to completely awful. Students are pretty chill.
Good School mostly caring staff. Almost all courses are available and they are taught well. Over all good place and safe learning environment
