My 13 year old's first Pho experience. "We have to come back here"
Food tastes pretty good which is the 3 stars but I am most annoyed at the fact that I called in to order take out and the guy who answered my call told me they had what I ordered on the menu, so that's great! Right?.... No. Turns out when I went to pick the food up they charged me something totally different because they "customized" my order for me when the guy clearly told me over the phone they have what I ordered on the menu. I wouldn't even be annoyed if he just had told me over the phone that sorry we do not have that on the menu but we can make it for you for an additional charge. Anyways, so other than that, the food tastes pretty good. So thank you, your decent tasting food made up for the poor customer service. My boyfriend and I did not come back for almost a year after a terrible eat in experience when you first opened, where the owners cussed us out in Cantonese (yes, I understand Cantonese..) after a mistake they did and we caught them for it and told them to rectify it.
Not terrible at all, but just not what I was expecting. Kinda like when you have a swig of a drink, expecting it to be Iced Tea, but then it's actually root beer.
I was hoping for a full on vietnamese menu, but it was probably 40% Vietnamese food and 60% Chinese food.
Pho looked good, but I was looking for a lemongrass pork chop w rice. It was good and tasty and filling. BUT it was rather more of a Vietnamese concept w other asian flavour/preparation.
Now that I understand what to expect, I would still go back again as they appeared to have a number of good lunch dishes for decent prices.
The food selection is pretty varied and could fit pretty much any kind of Chinese food craving. The food is good but isn't exceptional, considering that it is a tad bit on the expensive side (around $8-12 for main course). Service was pretty much non-existent except for the order taking, but that's common and understandable. However, everything you need is pretty much readily available to get by yourself - the table has any kind of cutlery or sauces you'll need, while the front counter has water pitchers in case you run out.
