Extremely high quality products, I have not been let down yet. It started with the Tenno or "Emperor's" sushi rice, I was looking for a healthy alternative for my mom who has rather strict dietary needs due to prolonged medical issues with her stomach. She loves cooking and most of that cooking used to consist of some form of rice but that stopped when she couldn't eat most of the brands you normally see at T'n'T or Asian supermarket. Since then I've been testing brands here and there when I found Tenno rice. She immediately took to it well, the first meal being some sticky rice, and alot of sushi for the whole family. Not only was it soft, fluffy and with the perfect amount of chewy bite but it stayed that same consistency hot or cold and didn't change for the three days that the maki rolls lasted in the refrigerator. (My mom tends to make alot of food at once, resulting in many leftovers which is why I personally value how long lasting the rice was.) After that we tried the Jasmine rice and my mom took to it just as well. I then discovered the company that was importing the rice, Whole River Trading, and found they specialized in more than just rice. The reasonably priced sesame oils led me to experiment a bit, cooking Italian dishes in substitute to olive oil with them for my girlfriend whose allergic. Again, the product got rave reviews. For myself I found myself falling in love with the garlic chili oil they used for their Dan Dan noodles so much so that I ordered several bottles when I found that they sold them on bottled by themselves. I have been very happy with everything I've gotten from them so far, and it was so easy to get with most the products available on Amazon (and with the current pandemic, I am so glad for that.) Haven't given the snacks a try yet but I look forward to them when they arrive.
Tried the jasmine rice this is so far the best in this type i've tried. it has a great balance between the texture of what traditional Thai grown jasmine rice provides and a what a Taiwanese taste buds favored. the rice is moist, chewy, yet still flavorful. The noodles are far beyond all dried noodled I've tried from the market. It gives the best quality of the dried noodle and sauce instead of focusing on either. Excellent blend on the sauce making and you feel the difference right away! So glad to find a company that exclusively brings this great quality of Taiwan rice and noodle to Toronto! will definitely going to try other products!
I bought Donghe noodles that I bought from a circle of friends a while ago. I used to come from Taiwan before, but now it is more convenient to have an agent.
By the way, try the Emperor Rice pushed by the boss. Personally, my tongue is dumb and I can't make a difference. However, the family members said that the difference was quite big. If you are interested, you can try it.
Give it a try since I always want to find the high quality rice from Taiwan, not just the rice type but the rice really grown in Taiwan. The price is fair for it's quality. Love the noodle product as well, the saurce is the gold! Will definitely try more products from them.
Decided to give them a try. The pricing was reasonable and fair, especially for the quality. The dandan noodles were very delicious, with just the right amount of firmness and spiciness.
