The product is decent, but their unit is about 1 year old and the auto flush doesn't seem to work correctly anymore (starts, but won't turn off), wasting lots of water and making the humidifier useless at the same time

Best humidifier out there, period.
Easy simple technology, that works well and low maintenance..

Had a Rotary disc model from Canadian Tire for > 10yrs-
Pros: The one I got then is of of a good material, well-made, stylish, sturdy non-rust design; relatively lower descaling maintenance than pad/drum type without the pad changing fuss.
Cons: In my opinion like most furnace mounted humidifiers, was not sufficient for whole house and need supplementing for bedrooms etc. I tried adding thin sheet sponge to plates to increase capillarity.
Also be careful getting replacement motor, as the Desert Spring one I saw advertised from Canadian Tire, although exactly similar in appearance and also fits, was only 1.2 vs 4 rpm and runs hotter. I learnt it was for another model
