Update Oct 11, 2021: It took me two afternoons to do it, but I successfully covered our large 16 sq ft window with the dots, and am impressed by how professional it looks! It took a bit of patience learning how to get the dots to consistently transfer from the tape to the cold window glass, but once I used a hairdryer (followed by a slight push on each dot) there were no issues at all. I imagine a window of this size could be done in just a few hours if I had used the hairdryer to begin with: lesson learned! I'm so happy with the results, and am surprised at how unnoticeable the dots are from the inside of the house! (You can see from the third photo I've attached to my review). I am hopeful that this small investment will contribute to more worry-free bird-watching, and less bird strikes at my home :)
Original post Sept 23, 2021: As an avid birdwatcher, I've tried UV sticker decals to try to prevent bird collisions with my home windows in the past two years. After seeing the collisions continue, including one recent death of an American Robin on my front porch, I realized I needed a different solution. Amber was incredibly knowledgable and her passion for bird conservation was apparent. She took the time to educate me and I was surprised to learn that the overwhelming amount of bird collisions occurs not on the large glass skyscrapers of the big city, but on the windows of residential houses like my own in the suburbs. I'm excited to stick the roll of Feather Friendly window dots on the large window facing my backyard feeder, just in time for Fall migration! With such an affordable price for each roll (I couldn't afford the beautiful Ornilux bird-friendly glass when replacing my house's windows), I plan to buy these as housewarming gifts for friends so that we can all do our part in preventing unnecessary bird deaths. Thank you again, Amber!!!
