Myself and three young daughters (aged 9, 6, and 3) went to get a head check done because a close family friend and three cousins had nits and/or lice. The service was friendly, hospitable and helpful (with information they provided). The place is kid-friendly with access to Netflix films or video games they can watch while getting checked. There are also toys in the waiting room. When doing a head check, if they find anything they will actually show you what they found in a microscope in case there is any doubt (i.e. to confirm more precisely it is a nit or a larva in the first stage, etc) For example, they did find what looked like a nit, but then when they checked in the microscope, it was an empty shell which looked like it was older. Apparently, even if you had lice a long time ago, nit casings can stay in your hair for years. So I think this place is honest too. They could've gone ahead and said I need a full treatment (which would give them extra money) but they were honest about it. Even with my 6 year-old, I said I thought I had found 6 nits before going to their clinic but she ended up checking out clean (what I thought were nits was actually dandruff wrapped around a hair strand). We all checked out clean. Happy Strandz has two salon rooms to do treatments, one which has a door that closes, so if you go as a whole family you can have some privacy without people looking in from the lobby. The seats are very comfortable (cushioned) and the room is spacious. At the end of the visit, they gave us a handout on how to de-louse the home and personal items, as well as how to do prevention measures in the future. What is also important is that they offer two re-checks after a full treatment visit to ensure that they have cleared your head fully (it's included in the cost of the full treatment). Before leaving, you can play a game (like a spinner but with a token) and you can qualify for discounts on products. We got a 15% discount on the mint spray which I bought so that every time I get a lice-alert letter now from my kids' school, I'll be putting their hair in pony-tails and spraying them. My only criticism that I can think of is that I thought it was only $15 for a head check but I didn't read the board carefully and only noticed after it was $15 per every 15 minutes (my head check took around 30 minutes although the others were only 15 minutes). But I'm not complaining because they kindly gave us two free head checks for my two daughters who are students! Another bonus! Truly, given that the staff were very warm, friendly, thorough, honest, and took the time to explain a lot about lice, I would recommend this place highly!
