I went into the store looking to buy a new bed. I wasn't sure what kind of bed I wanted. The manager was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. I came away very please with my purchase and last night I had one of the best night's sleep I've had in years. Thank you Linen Chest.
Several weeks ago I purchased a "Ricardo" ice cream maker. I had been drawn to the stores "20% off almost everything" sale. The machine was not in stock, and, would be sent to me.
After seeing the receipt, I noticed that no discount had been applied to the purchase. Thinking this was a simple oversight, I approached the cashier to make her aware of the mix-up.
I was told that the device was not part of the sale. I asked to speak to the manager, because the display model was sitting on a high shelf with pricing impossible to read due to the small print on the tag.
She pointed out that the sale banner did contain a disclaimer that stated some brands were excluded from the sale; however, the banner did not specify those brands.
I noted that the tag was not informative to the customer, as it is not legible from the height in question. Also, I noted that, at no time, did anyone on the sales floor alert me to the fact that Ricardo-branded products were excluded from the sale.
At this point, some of you may be asking yourselves the reason why I gave a 5-star rating after my experience, thus far. Read on, please!
The manager took complete ownership of the situation. She listened politely to my concerns. She was able to diffuse the situation with tact, and, used humour in a genuine way without a trace of condescension. I left the store a very satisfied customer that day, thanks to the actions of the store manager.
She is truly an asset to your organization!
Oh yes, the ice cream maker has since arrived, and I have become a master of sorbet!
