Mary is the ultimate flower QUEEN! No seriously, I just had my last day of school today and I am going to miss Mary and her flower gang so much; they are honestly THE BEST!!!

The sign of an exceptional teacher is empowerment and that’s what defines Mary’s teaching style. She breaks everything down so it’s not so intimidating, encourages you and quickly helps you gain confidence and before you know it you are off and running making beautiful arrangements. I signed up for the “Start up with Design” 1 on 1 and immediately I felt very comfortable explaining to Mary what my goals were and where I was coming from and she really went all out with all gorgeous blooms and contemporary mechanics and all the on trend cutting edge design stuff that we see in today’s
Amazing floral design world. I also signed up for a separate seminar that was all about large scale floral installations and it was there that I realized every student feels the same way I do, this alumni of the school is one big supportive family - it’s truly incredible what has been built over the years. Just the mentoring and the generosity has blown me away. I know that if I need something or I am stuck or have a question, Mary is going to be there to help her students. I had been to another school before and did not leave with that much confidence to step into the floral world but after Mary’s program I feel like my skills are on par and I could be hired freelance anywhere; every student flourishes in this environment. Could bang on about this forever! If you are curious about modern contemporary boutique floral design (the ultra cool stuff) go to this school. I also have to give a shout out to Alex (Mary’s daughter) who taught me all about insane floral installations which gave me the confidence to attempt one solo almost immediately (and with success :) ) I can’t wait to get back there to create gorgeous flowers again one day. Thanks again!!!

After attending the floral design course in 2016 I was very well prepared for starting my own business. Not only was I provided the resources and skills in both traditional and new school design, I had support and knowledge on the floral industry and operational aspect of the business. Fast forward to 2020 and I continue to learn as an alumni; with advanced workshops, industry tips, as well as support through the online alumni community. Mary and her team are available to answer questions, help out, get you in touch with freelance work if that’s your goal and support you in your flower journey. It is more than just a school, it becomes your extended floral family. I highly recommend The Toronto Flower School for those looking to learn new and on trend techniques through an intensive and immersive program. Pro Tip: Take notes, there is a wealth of info coming your way?

Taking a workshop at this institution was by far one of the best decisions I have made. Mary and her ladies were so wonderful to deal with and gave me true, honest advice on how to better my flower business with such helpful tips and tricks that nobody else in the floral industry would have ever shared with me. This is a MUST take course if you are interested in modern designing of bouquets, installations etc. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Toronto Flower School was the best experience and I wish I could relive it again! Thank you to Mary for creating such a fun and comfortable environment, for giving us a really great foundation of skills and knowledge and the confidence to work through various modern design concepts. I loved every minute and would definitely recommend it to any flower lover!
