Couldn’t ask for a more caring, knowledgeable, and committed trainer than Kim and the Suburban Paws team. They really do care for the dogs they cross paths with, and Bella always comes home with her cup filled right up after spending time with them. They put time and effort into understanding your pup and their unique needs, and teach you how to set your pup up for success outside of their care - a real game changer for us. Highly highly highly recommend for all dogs and their families!

Kim has continued to support my understanding and relationship with my dog. Because of her I am developing a better understanding the dog I have and how best to meet her needs. Kim has supported me in understanding that my dog struggles with fear based reactivity and anxiety but this does not define who she is. Kim has a wealth of knowledge, and is an incredible dog whisperer! Her gift of understanding a dogs needs and being able to explain and train the dog guardian is nothing less than amazing. And my dog LOVES her! I would highly recommend Kim to anyone who wants to truly understand their dog, and build a positive and confident relationship with them!

Kim is extremely ethical, professional, kind, compassionate and knowledgeable about all things dog! Kim focuses on creating a positive relationship and environment for dogs. She uses evidence based strategies that are force free. Kim is very open to feedback and she is not judgmental when it comes to challenges dogs or their humans experience. Training plans are individualized and unique. She is such wonderful human and an amazing dog trainer/consultant.

It’s been six months since we worked with Kim and our relationship with our dog has never been better. We learned so much about body language, communication and compassion through working with Suburban Paws and we are better able to be the advocate our reactive dog needs to make it in this very stressful world. My initial review is below and I continue to stand by it 100%:

We love working with Kim, and so does our dog. Having a reactive dog can be stressful and overwhelming, and we came to Kim feeling deflated by previous dog training experiences elsewhere. Kim bolstered our confidence, helped us to pay closer attention to our dog’s needs and cues, and has helped us to improve our relationship with our dog tremendously. Our dog has never been so relaxed and happy on her walks!

Kim herself has a relaxed and calming presence and is so easy to work with. We were looking for a certified trainer and not only is Kim certified, she is also dedicated to continued education and development. We will certainly be turning to Kim for any future training with our current dog and any future pups.

The store is lovely too, with many resources (puzzle toys, books, treats, etc). Absolutely worth a visit even if you are not seeking training.
