The Plaid Jacket

Went to The Plaid Jacket for dinner last night and had a great experience. We ordered the tornado potato, hubby had wings, I had the stuffed peppers and our son had the wings off of the kids menu. Service was great and our server was attentive. Portions were very good, our food was hot, and flavorful and prices are decent. Food did take a while but after reading the fine print on the menu, they make their food from scratch so I would rather wait then sacrifice quality. We were in no rush anyways. Their kids menu has good variety. Our server asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert after dinner and our table was cleared promptly after finishing our meals. Overall a really good experience! A nice change for Keswick and we will definitely return.

Let me start with saying that Jess, in the lounge, provided excellent customer service. The only reason this is not a 5 star is personal preference.

We we’re seated immediately and within a few minutes our drink order was taken. After perusing the menu we made our selection and ordered. Now, there was only a slightly long wait, due to a large group in the party room (no worries).

Jess stopped by to apologize, but it wasn’t necessary. We weren’t in a rush, we were enjoying a night out.

The food arrived and we eagerly dug in. My husband and I were sharing a few dishes. The beer battered mushrooms were by far my favourite. Next would be the turkey Club (crispy crust and generously filled with turkey, tomatoes and lettuce). Lastly, the French onion soup. I love this kind of soup, but this one fell far short on taste. Not enough flavour or onions.

We would definitely return, bringing friends next time. Great new restaurant addition to Keswick.

We love this restaurant! We have been there 3 times since the grand opening on the 10th and love it! The food, drinks, staff and atmosphere are amazing!! Thank you for opening such a wonderful home grown restaurant!!! We drive from Lindsay just to enjoy this restaurant!!
