Elio Ristorante

We stumbled on this new Italian restaurant in Sutton. You could easily miss it in a small plaza off the main street. My veal sandwich had a generous piece of meat slathered in delicious red sauce and cheese served in a crusty roll. There was a side of fries that wasn't necessary but the Caesar side salad had a creamy dressing. The decor is classy and a restaurant of this calibre is needed in the area.

We went a few weeks ago. The food was mostly good, but the service was not. The waitress took our order relatively quickly, and we got our appetizers and first drinks in a reasonable amount of time. We had to remind the waitress about our second round of drinks, and this still took far too long. The food was mostly good, but my wife's pizza had zucchini on it that didn't appear to have seen the inside of an oven - it was raw. Once we finished our meals, we sat for some time with our plates in front of us until another waitress took the initiative and cleared the plates for us. We then sat for some time waiting for our waitress, and in the end had to get up and ask for our bill. It was not busy.

The restaurant had been open for a few months at this point, and we had specifically waited so they could work the kinks out. Not long enough it seems. We will likely give the place another chance in the (distant) future, as we had high hopes. Had the service been better, we would have left with a much better impression.

Decor and atmosphere are very chic and pleasant. The food was decent, It's was enjoyable. The staff was a little lackluster. Due to the open concept I could see the kitchen staff, and they were not being professional, it was disappointing.
