Markham Midwives

Markham midwives is BEYOND amazing. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful my team was (team 1). I was always treated with respect and kindness and felt immediately at ease in the care of my midwives. Both of my birth experiences were excellent thanks to the encouragement, knowledge and support I received. I cannot thank you guys enough for bringing my two babies into the world safely! You guys are the best!!

I have become a big fan of Midwife now due to my much better experience wth my delivery this morning on June 15, 2020 with Markham Midwife at MSH.

We had a very good experience with delivery and everything with the Markham Midwife team at Markham Stouffville Hospital this time. Much better than 1st time with a random OB and nurse available on the day that I delivered at MSH in 2018. The doctor who gave me epidural this time is much better, more experienced and is the Chief there Dr. Hussaine. I wish I had their help with my 1st delivery in 2018 with my 1st kid. I would highly recommend everyone to try Midwife as the care is more personal and delivery was much better. They explain everything to you clearly and helped me push the baby out much better too this time too! We had early discharge and left the hospital just 3 hrs after baby came out so I can go home and rest at home. Then Midwife will come visit me the next day within 24 hrs at my house for check up! :). I was with Team 4 with Amanda & had other Midwife from other teams come to help out too! :)

With Midwife, you have someone dedicated to you during your whole birthing experience while with nurses & OB. It's a hit or miss. They come & they go as they have to take care of other patients at the same time. The OB took forever to come in 2018 with my 1st delivery to help me with the vacuum delivery. I struggled a lot with over 24 hrs of labour. It was a nightmare experience. This time much better with Midwife & wished I had known to use them before :)

Having a wonderful experience so far with my team of midwives. Everyone is so great at answering my questions. Highly Recommended! ❤

I believe I was on team 1 (2011 and 2014) and all of the midwives were amazing. Professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. They supported me with both of my home births and I am forever grateful to them for making it a memorable and safe experience. Shout out to our favourites - Shereen and Angel!

I had team 1 twice (2017 & 2019). At no point in time did I feel they had their own agenda. They listened and encouraged me throughout my hospital births.
There were different sets of people both times though. Sindy and the student at the time (Isabel, who is now at the Durham clinic) were at my first birth. Dana and Stephanie (the current student) were at my second. They all were very attentive and really made me feel I could do it. Other midwives, like Angel, Shannon, and Vishali supported us before and after giving birth. Lona, at the front desk, is also a sweetheart.
If any woman has a low risk pregnancy, they should consider having a midwife. The care that you and your baby receive is so personal and yet professional.
