I recently moved to Canada and this was my first apartment in the country. Renting an apartment as an international student in a new city with absolutely no knowledge about the locality can be a challenging experience, however I consider myself lucky.
Staff:
The staff at the office are really helpful, they guided us throughout the process and made sure we made no mistakes.
Location:
The building is located at a convenient location with Scotia Bank, Canadian tire, food basics, no frills and shoppers drug mart around it. YRT transit stops are also within 100mtrs ensuring good connectivity. There are multiple parks at walking distance from the building.
Unit:
The apartment was ready on time for us to move in with all the appliances in place. We rented a 2 bedroom apartment and it is spacious enough for 3 to 4 people to live. It also has a balcony which is big enough to have small furniture or store bicycles. The building also has a gym which has all essential equipments.
Overall:
It was a great experience living at 20 Clark avenue, I did not face any issues. The management is quite responsible and takes required steps to ensure residence have a comfortable and safe stay.
I've been living here for more than two years and I can say for sure that it is a great choice to live in. The living condition of the apartment is great as there is not much problem that can affect your comfortable living environment. The railing in the balcony is secure. No cracks on the wall, windows. or flooring. The electrical socket, fusebox, heater, and ventilation are properly covered and working. All the appliances/electrical devices provided(i.e. lighting, heater, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and induction range) are clean and also properly working. Door lock is 100% secured. All apartment personnel are friendly and ready to help. The apartment personnel deal with pest issues by hiring pest control. They often check the fire alarm if it is working. The public area (i.e. lobby, laundry room, hallway, etc.) are always cleaned. The good thing about this apartment is it keeps on improving. In these two years, they added a free public bicycle parking with fixing station, revamp the outside landscape, automatic on and off ventilation in the laundry room, and paved the driveway. One noteworthy to mention is the apartment personnel’s response during today's pandemic. They properly give instructions to what to do in order to minimize the spread of Covid-19. The only thing I’m concerned about is that the apartment personnel did not fully fix the foul odor yet in the basement. But overall, Glen Apartments is a great place!
I currently live in this apartment building and can totally vouch for it. The apartments are spacious and well maintained. The building is in a prime location and it's 2 stops away from Finch station via YRT. It is centrally located close to various grocery stores like No frills, Food Basics, Ambrosia, Sobeys and Shopper's Drug Mart. Lots of malls are also close by like the Center Point mall, Promenade and Hill Crest mall. The management of the building is great. They are super responsive and helpful in case of repairs and queries. In all, it's a great place to live in!
3 years almost to the date and they still won't address the putrid odor the comes from the walls and ventilation. We've dealt with usual roaches and mice, Val and Marneh have always been quick to deal with it. Thank you to both. Overall the common areas and outdoors are very well maintained. The people and the neighborhood community is what keeps us here.
