Walmart Newmarket East Store

Got everything I was looking for plus something I haven't been able to find yet! A bathing suit coverup!

Staff are always smiling and very polite. Only complaint is there produce selection is not the greatest at all. Always seems spoiled. Also the coffee selection is very slim as well other than that it's a clean store.

This is an unusually small location that was previously a Zellers. There is no refrigerated section but there is dry goods and the other sections you'd expect in a department store. Think of it like a convenience store version of Walmart. They don't have everything but if you want a quieter and cleaner experience than the West end location then this is your best bet.

It's basically what you would expect to be honest. As someone who lives on a budget, Walmart is a staple go to for me. Their pricing is competitive and the quality is good for what you pay. I've never had a problem finding product at this store or having them bring it in from another store. The groceries have a surprisingly good selection, and the freshness has never been something I have to worry about. The staff themselves are genuinely friendly and helpful, and as a regular there I now have people I stop and chit chat with when they are working. The only reason I gave this location four stars, as opposed to full marks, is that the location itself can sometimes be messy and certain areas can come across as unsanitary (I.e. bathrooms). The location is also constantly understaffed, and even with self checkout the wait times to pay for your items and get out of the store can be long and irritating. If you go during peak shopping hours, don't expect to just "pop in and out".
