I did the grief recovery program with Ioana and felt very supported by her. This unique program was created by individuals who had suffered significant losses. It has a set of written exercises that help to progressively heal the underlying pain that results from loss and grief. One of the most important aspects of healing from grief in the program is to complete the exercises and then tell someone your feelings in person. With Ioana’s gentle and reassuring guidance I completed a written exercise every week. Ioana’s caring and compassionate demeanour helped me to open up and share my grief over having lost both my parents a few years apart. Ioana guided me through the program and listened to all my pent-up grief and sadness. I was also grieving over some lost relationships with living relatives. Ioana patiently and attentively listened to my stories about each and every person I had to grieve and let go of. In between meetings Ioana graciously helped me get through some difficult emotions over the phone. She was always available to support me. It was tough to dig up all those feelings about so many people but it had to be done and in the end I felt more peaceful and free.
