Extremely beautiful area. The parking is next to each picnic area which makes it very convenient and also makes sure you have parking for all the people at the picnic, unlike parks where the parking is difficult to find. There is an entry fee but well worth the convenience.
A great green space in this area to be with nature. Free parking available. Walk about 500 m to bypass the cement and industrial. Signage to guide the way to different paths. Pond, trees, birds and you.
Blessed with a beautiful day, we recently took part in a club picnic at Boyd park. The area we rented was well serviced, clean, well-stocked with picnic tables, and also had a covered area if the weather turned bad. Washrooms, available in a permanent solid bricked structure, were clean and working well. The staff was very helpful. Apparently, the individual who organized the event was to be given a thank you envelope filled with discount coupons upon arrival. When the staff found that this envelope was not given to the organizer, they came to the site with the envelope and gave it to the organizer.
We throughly enjoyed our day at the park
I love walking my dog at Boyd (beware of ticks though, you might find a couple on your dog if you let them roam). It's a nice change from just walking around your neighborhood. Especially in the fall, when the leaves are changing colour and the leaves are on the floor, it is a beautiful walk. There are all some easy hiking trails that can be found deeper in the forest. It's also a great place to run and bike. There are also a lot of picnic areas that can be used during the summer. You do need to pay a fee per person when driving into the park but there is a free parking lot just outside the entrance. Overall this park is wonderful to visit to get some fresh air.
