After a terrible fire that destroyed our garage and vehicles we were very stressed. We were very disappointed with our insurance company after never making a claim in 23 years they were not helpful at all. We simply wanted our property replaced which turned out to be very difficult. This lead us to Sobel Adjusting. Allison Alderdice was nothing short of amazing. She answered every question we had, worked endlessly to assist us in getting on track with a fair settlement. We experienced a fire at our home in August 2018. We had no idea how complicated and frustrating the experience of dealing with the insurance company could be, nor did we expect the process could be so obscure and one-sided. After trying to deal with the matter ourselves, we decided we needed assistance and reached out to Sobel Adjusting. Carolyn Hawthorne, who handled our file, was excellent. She has an in-depth knowledge and expertise and used that to extract a much higher payout than we could have obtained on our own. As one aspect of our fight with the insurance company, we were required to go to mediation on part of the claim. Carolyn was unbelievably prepared and compiled an impressive brief in support of our arguments. She completely outclassed the insurance company representative. As a former litigation lawyer, I can say without hesitation that it it was an extremely impressive performance. Carolyn is also a pleasure to deal with. I would have no hesitation in recommending Carolyn and Sobel Adjusting to anyone who unfortunately finds themselves tangled up with the insurance industry. You need an advocate in these circumstances and I can think of no one better to fill that role.

My house in the French River was destroyed by a fire caused by lightning. At first I thought my insurance company would take care of everything. I worked on the claim with their adjuster for about a year before. I became so frustrated and angry with their games, it became obvious that I was in for a very large problem. The fire was not our fault. We didn’t cause the problem so why the insurance company is being so difficult with paying us? What our policy should cover us for? I tried as much as I could to fight but this was too much. I found Sobel Adjusting on the internet and hired them to fight for us. Brandon and Tim kept me informed as things progressed. I knew it would take some time to get this resolved as these situation always do. I’m very happy to write this review for Sobel Adjusting because we are so pleased with the end result. I don't generally leave reviews, however I appreciate the follow-up provided by both Steve Sobel and Tim Owens of SAJ. Our potential business had marginal benefit to them at most and zero value to them in the end. Steve spent 11 minutes with me on the phone listened to our situation and shared his insight; with his insurance industry knowledge helped boil down the issue to 2 or 3 actions I can take.
11 minutes might not seem enough time to evaluate someone or a company, however I could tell he knew his business and wanted to assist us in our predicament.

My family home was destroyed by a fire in September 2019. We never had a fire or insurance claim like this before, but knew we needed help. We quickly had a rental home to live in, rental furniture, and some money to help get us back on our feet.
