  8 minutes away from Stouffville, and it's like you're in cottage county. The food was good, however I did find it expensive. The view is where it's at- such a beautiful place to eat at. It was so serene and nice, I had a great time here.

  I love this place so much! It makes me feel like I'm somewhere else in cottage country on on vacation. The ambiance is absolutely lovely, overlooking Musselman's lake, staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty. I would have given it five stars but I think they need could really benefit from having a vegan or vegetarian option as a main dish on their menu to accommodate more people. Also considering its marketed as a restaurant and espresso bar I think it's weird they don't have any to go cups for coffee or espresso, if they did i would definitely leave with a coffee in hand!

  Based on our experience, you go to Fishbone by the Lake for the atmosphere. The restaurant is open air, only open during spring/summer, and not during inclement weather (there is no indoor seating). There dining area is covered so you won't fry in the sun. Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive.
  The special cocktails were imaginative and tasty. The food was definitely hit and miss. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was burnt and the crab dip somewhat flavourless. My burger was ok but my wife's fish was not great. Prices are on the high side, but again, you're paying for the atmosphere. We'll be back for special occasions with friends and be a bit more demanding of the kitchen. It's definitely not a place for a weekly dinner out.

  Atmosphere was great, food wasn’t too bad, but the service was lacking. Although the restaurant is situated on a beautiful lake, we were dining amongst hundreds of flying ants. They ended up in our wine and in our food. When the waitress brought our food to the table, it came with an insect already inside the dish!!! I promptly informed the waitress immediately after she put the dish on the table, and she replied “We are outdoors, and can’t prevent bugs”… This was not the type of response I was expecting when eating outdoors. Be prepared to be served a side of insects!
