Its nice that Barry's Bay has kept the train station as a museum. There are some nice historic photos inside the station and all around the museum there are historic plaques. I also loved the old time table hanging at the entrance to the station.
Great historical photographs of days gone by. The staff person was very friendly and helpful.
Great place to get info about the region and history of the railway.
The railway station has drawn thousands of people to it's art exhibitions, the weekly farmer's market, a multitude of musical events, and the information available at the visitor's centre.
It is a gem of history, not only for it's railway past, but for it's preserved existance of vernacular building and hand craftmanship of carpentry, achieved with the use of hand saws, chisels, and hand planes.
Great use of old style buildings for more than old buildings. Love it multi-use art gallery, visitors info, public washroom, etc.
