Although the site was closed when we visited, it was very interesting. You can wander around the small park and still take in the Polish culture. There are several pieces of art worth seeing.
Interesting insights into the heritage of the original Polish settlers who established this community
I went to the museum in hope of finding a book that explains some of my family history.
The young man working was amazing. He had the book and I happily purchased. As I explained my journey in search of my grandparents graves he shared ideas and even offered to help search.
My father is of Kashub heritage and reading about his families journey to Canada has brought me closer than ever to our beginnings.
Thanks so much for your knowledge and passion for the Polish Kashub Heritage.
This was a very interesting stop. As someone who has family roots in the area very worthwhile!!
Wilno is the oldest polish settlement in Canada and this beautiful outdoor museum honors these pioneers. The park offers some heritage stones, old huts, wooden crosses and other authentic relics of the past. There are some banks to sit down and take a break, a few colorful flowers and there is even a creek close by. I recommend making a stop there, remembering the past and taking some pictures.
