I have used Rob and his team for two mortgages now, in two different cities (Toronto and Barrie), and was very content with the professionalism, attentiveness and quality of the services provided. In particular, Rob made sure we found a top mortgage provider with superior client services for a very competitive rate, while also making sure of minimal penalty clauses (compared to the mortgages of the major banks) should we wish to sell well ahead of the end of the mortgage term. That clause saved us a fair bit of money when we unexpectedly needed to move only halfway through a 5-year term but not yet be in a position to buy again (so mortgage transfer was not in the cards). Highly recommended. (One postscript: be prepared for two steps of paperwork with the mortgagor in question, as it tends to overdo things by first having the broker assemble a full file of financials and then repeating some items itself directly with the customer. The mortgagor has a reputation for such heightened due diligence, which can be annoying at the time but also may explain why they have the confidence to offer a better overall product than others.)

We dealt with Melanie for the mortgage of our home after being told by TD that we could port our mortgage- and then being told we couldn't port it. We decided to look at a broker who would have OUR best interests in mind.
