We are not ones to give reviews on social media - but we have to write about what a great experience we continue to have at Camp Cookstown.

I noticed a couple (very few) reviews that weren’t as positive but mention their dogs loosing weight. Speaking from our experience, I would note a couple of points: 1). we provide the food and amounts. 2) The dogs are being exercised and are playing a large amount of time (with rest when wanted).

There are truly so many positive things that we could mention about the Staff, the care, the open play area, the value. All I can say is that the people working here either simply LOVE LOVE LOVE what they do, or the owners have instituted a phenomenal company culture.... OR MAYBE ITS BOTH. From the grateful owners of Piper the Dalmatian.

This place is heaven on earth for dogs. My dog has been going there 1 or 2 times a week for day camp and boards there a couple of times a year for the past 5 years. We wouldn't take him anywhere else.

We love Camp Cookstown! Our boy loves it! He's a 6 month old Great Dane.
I have to say, when we first got him, he was really afraid of other dogs, we knew socializing him young was the best choice for him (also recommended by our Veterinarian) and we owe Camp Cookstown a lot of credit as they knew he was a timid and young boy and kept him away from the big boys and girls until he was ready. Now he plays outside and no longer has ANY fear of other dogs, he is polite with them, gentle and plays very nicely with them.
I do find sometimes, it's difficult to get a hold of the staff at the camp but I also like the fact that they aren't glued to an office and are actually out with the dogs and supervising!
I also appreciate that they take the time to listen to me when I have things to mention.
My pup comes home tired and I feel good that he's out with other dogs and not sitting at home in a crate, while I work.

I have read reviews that people are upset about their dogs getting sick. This happens with day cares and schools with children as well. Vaccinate your kids, vaccinate your dogs and guess what, sometimes animals just like humans can still get sick. They will develop an immune system. Do what you can to protect them while also not being a helicopter pet parent.
Our neighbors have 2 dogs they don't socialize with anyone, one of them got attacked by the neighbors dog because it growled and lost it on him and the other dog was much bigger and reacted back. I see this as a bigger risk than I do leaving my dog with animal lovers and other dogs who have been socialized as well.

This is by far the best place to bring your dog. My boys love it! The staff is very accommodating and professional. They exude compassion and caring for all dogs present. I am beyond happy with each and every staff member. I highly recommend this facility 😊
