(July 14, 2020, 12:54 pm)The lock is currently under some construction but still functions well. We visited on a Monday at the beginning of July and it was quiet with few people and boats around. The stretch going west or down river from here is a long narrow channel filled with cottages and people who seem to hate that they bought a cottage on a narrow channel on the busy Trent Severn Waterway. You have to go very slow for about an hour.
There is some modest amount of camping area for boaters at this lock along the grey wall both above and below the lock.
