Excellent place for the whole family. Definitely somewhere to check out. Lots to learn about the local Canadian wildlife
Also a spectacular area for photography and enjoying nature. The welcome center also has interesting information and exhibits for more in-depth knowledge of Canada's wetlands.
What a great gem. If you haven't been here, go! The birds of prey exhibit is fantastic. Up close and personal. It's a great place tucked away from the city life. Go there when you get a chance. You will not be disappointed!!!!
Great place for a date, tourists, family friendly fun or just to learn stuff on your own! There are many kilometers of hiking and walking trails in the summer. In the summer I would consider the place accessible for those with mobility concerns. In the winter there's great snowshoeing and skiing. The trails aren't always cleared so those with wheelchairs may have a concern getting around.
Try feeding the chickadees! Or visit the birds of prey. There is a daily feeding at 1pm.
Even in the winter the Wye Marsh is a great place to visit. Fantastic hiking trails that are great for families, including a boardwalk over the marsh, with plenty of opportunities to learn about and see wildlife. Over the years I've had the opportunity to see snakes, the cutest tiniest baby snapping turtles, painted turtles, an owl, Trumpeter Swans, ducks, and chickadees that eat out of your hand. There's a Trumpeter Swan rehabilitation centre as well as a birds of prey area. Also a fascinating up close look at a working bee hive. Dogs are permitted (yay!). Honestly one of my favourite places to go when visiting Midland.
Love this place.. we stopped in here to do a little winter bird watching... they have owls on display.. trumpeter swans in the marsh.. and we stopped to feed the chickadees right out of our hands...
Lots of trails.. great little spot.. can't wait to go back and check it out in the spring...
