Maxville highland games is always an excellent time.

A great venue for the North American Pipe Band Championships​.Plenty of parking and camping space for trailers and cars. Easy to find !

There is always a good time to be had at the Glengarry highland Games, generally the first Friday & Saturday of August every year, at the enormous Maxville Fair Grounds.
There are vendors, concessions and food of all sorts, including traditional Scottish fare as well as Canadian foods.
One can take advantage of the patrons pavilion, a tattoo and the beer tent, featuring live music, dancing and general revelry.
Dancing, piping and drumming competitions take place over the course of the weekend, as well as traditional Scottish highland games, including caber and sheaf tossing (no sheep tossing, tho), hammer throws and other feats of strength. Championships, premiereships and pipe band competitions include the highest grades. This is the largest highland games in eastern north America.
To complete the event, massed bands take to the field several times over the course of the weekend, numbering in the hundreds. Parking is free and
Camping available on site for a fee, for tents or for recreational vehicles. Bring your tartan or plaid hats and clothing and celebrate being a Scot for the weekend. Slaínte!
