The Scottish meat pies were just like I remember when I was a small girl in Verdun. Got a wonderful loaf of bread and some oatmeal raisin cookies.i will be returning to Muirs Bakery in Maxville very soon.

My partner, who is from the Isle of Arron, and I think Muir’s has the best haggis in the Ottawa valley, delicious meat pies, sausage rolls and everything else that they make.

It’s been a tradition for several years now that we get a few haggis’s and a couple dozen meat pies every year to celebrate Rabbie Burns day. They’ve always had consistent high quality, and our friends always rave about how good the food is. Even people who are afraid to eat haggis in the past have tried the haggis from Muir’s and have said it tastes so much better than they expected. They usually go on to fill up their plate and dig in.

They are definitely worth the drive if you don’t live nearby, but you might want to call ahead and possibly preorder if you want to be sure they’ll have what you are looking for. Muir’s is really popular!

Adorable quaint little bakery. Prices are good, and the Mille-Feuille is amazing! The staff is friendly.
