Stopped her on the way home from camping on Victoria day weekend 2019, had a bite to eat at the restaurant before going into the trading post. The food at the restaurant was good, tasty, not bad portions, the only downfall was processed cheese in the omelet, but it was still good. Went into the trading post after we ate, very nice stuff, however extremely overpriced...
I've used them two years in a row. They make you feel like you're right at home. Always very accommodating.
This is such a great place to stop, I stop here everytime I drive up north. It has the most amazing treats and I still have a sweater from here that's from 15 years ago. So much to look and and so much to buy. This is the best place to stop and shop.
Tourist trap.
It's pretty cool looking inside and there's lots of neat things. It's on the highway and next to the Hungry Bear restaurant so people stop in for a driving break.
Things are very pricy. They have no competition in the area and the prices reflect that.
There's lots of parking.
There's no washroom you have to buy something at the restaurant to use them.
I have been visiting The French River Trading Post since I was a little kid. It has always been just the most wonderful spot. If you love fresh homemade fudge, great casual clothing, Canadians arts and crafts, jewelry, and handmade moccasins, you must stop in for something special. Summer time gives you the chance to meet the Hungry Bear. Stopping here is a tradition for our family, hoping you all enjoy it just as much as we do.
