Lunge Lodge

We stayed at Lunge Lodge and following is the detail i think will help other travellers:
Access to Lodge:
There is no car access to lodge. Owner will pick you from dock in his own boat to the cottage. To reach the dock from highway there is about 40 minutes unpaved road which can be tricky if travelling with kids in bad weather. Very limited cellular coverage.
Location:
Lodge location is right on river and really great...!!No trails for walking but great for fishing. Cottages named as White Spruce and Black Spruce are best located on water with little dock of their own.
Electricity:
During our stay there was no electricity in evening hours for about 8 hours due to electric company fault. No generator back up. During these dark hours there was no water and toilets in cottages were out of service. There is no back up Water for toilets either.
Customer Service:
Owner is nice and care for you. Please keep in mind this is not urban set up so go there with open mind. No cellular or wifi coverage. Great to relax..!
Cottage condition:
Average but comfortable. Kitchens are functional.

Well what can i say that has not already been said about Lunge Lodge. I have been there now on 4 different occasions, and all have been exeptional. Staff is friendly. Lodging and facilities are great. And the owners are like family when i visit. Food package is wonderful and always enough to fill any size stomach. The fishing is great, and there is an endless supply of fishing hotspots. Try Lunge Lodge if you havent already. Thank you see you soon, Raul.

Visited during summer 2018. Very friendly owner and staff. However facilities are a bit outdated and there were tons of biting bugs. Fishing was not as great as expected.

This rustic fishing lodge is exactly what you would hope for. Your hosts, Scott and Tiffany are certainly in the right business. They have a good team surrounding them to make your stay here very relaxing. If you’re here to fish, you’ve come to the right place. But that’s not all. There is lots to do for couples or families alike. Although Scott and Tiffany have only owned the lodge for a couple years, the fact that they made the French river there go to vacation spot for many years prior really shows. They are using their experience at other lodges and as guests themselves to ensure their guests rave about their stay at Lunge Lodge. They are investing heavily into making Lunge Lodge the Premier fishing destination in the French River. I would highly suggest you visit this historic lodge and witness its rejuvenation over the next number of years. I know I’ll be back. Hint, both Tiffany and Scott enjoy fireworks. The fact that they are also Americans, the week that holds both Canada Day and Independence Day is a real boom! A real nice treat for sure.

I would like to thank the new owners Tiffany and Scott for accommodating us for our two week musky hunt! I also would like to recognize Germaine snd Simone as well. You all made us feel at home! The food was excellent, service outstanding! Thank u for all of your hard work! I wish u all nothing but success and happiness in your venture. Long live the mighty lunge! Can’t wait to return.
