These reviews might not give a fair perspective. Honestly, I moved from this building years ago, but know people who stayed. The upper floors are great for single people and couples. Neighbours were all friendly, stable and pleasant. They seemed to stay for longer periods. LGBT positive building. Pay your rent on time to keep good rapport with front desk. Security mostly has to be dialled as I think they are the same for all their buildings. Be super polite to staff and it should go well.
The units are large 1970s apartments with great air flow and one of the best views I've had in Toronto living at the top. very soundproof. Everything was fixed in a reasonable period of time. The maintenance guy was super friendly.
Balconies are super large and safe feeling. Huge windows, very bright. Convenient location. Pet friendly. I think they put the families on certain floors.
I think the complaints of cockroaches came during their construction period, but i we never had them. My friend did briefly during construction. I would live in Medallion again. They are mod range, and definitely not a dive.
Things get tougher further down sherbourne. It's not exactly a family oriented building just based on outdoor space, and not really nearby green space unless you go into the Rosedale valley or the Don Valley through Cabbagetown. Walking distance to Yonge/Bloor and church at. Cute little pub across the street and down Isabella.
Have lived here since 2005. Never had a roach problem, nor bedbugs. Management is quick to do repairs once you put In a work order. 5 elevators. Alarm testing is a pain, as I work evenings. They test once a month. Have done extensive renovations to all common areas. All in all, a GREAT place to live.
