I have never dined in so this purely based on taste alone. The food is OK. Ive tried a few things just to be sure and as far as looks go it looks way more flavourful than it actually is. Having worked in an authentic Mexican restaurant where some recipes took days to make , this feels a bit rushed maybe ? Or just made to be a bit white washed. The birria seems like maybe just broth and chili oil if I had to guess. I had to add salt pepper garlic powder chili powder and some chili oil from GUS tacos (btw do it right) and then it was pretty decent. And again this is just pure honesty. If you want deep rich Mexican flavour don’t be fooled by the colours of the oils and cilantro. But Overall not terrible. Just a bit expensive for the lack of flavours. Much better places in Toronto for the same cost or less.
Very good birria tacos, heavy on the meat, super filling. 2 tacos was enough, but of course 3rd gotten eaten anyway despite the fullness ;) Consomme dipping sauce was rich and delicious.
Don't skip dessert, the tres leches cake is amazing, best sweet treat I've had in a longtime. Will def order again soon.
Thank you Flor Mexicana
Okay, so I’ve had my fair share of birria tacos and I really think this place does it best. The meat was perfectly seasoned, moist and packed with spices/flavour. On its own the tacos were fantastic but dipped in the consome it was the perfect bite - rich, juicy, and cheesy with a splash of freshness from
the limes and the salsa.
The portion was great and the service was quick and super friendly. Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu.
OH! I can’t forget to mention the guacamole - you can always tell a good place apart from others when something as simple as guacamole tastes great!
Edit Oct 2021: changed to 4 stars because while the food is still terrific, the service is consistently really slow. Forty minute wait for six tacos at opening time on a rainy Sunday is way too long.
This place seems like it's a pop-up and I truly hope that is not the case. Very good tacos. No frills here, you get a double corn tortilla, simple toppings in onion and cilantro and the best-seasoned fillings I've had since Mississauga's El Jefe (before ownership changed in 2020). You get many different options for fillings too.
The best part about them is the portions. At the time of writing, you get 3 large tacos for 12.99! Great deal compared to other places downtown.
Edit: Order in advance though, it gets really busy on weekends
My favourite day is here again. It's 𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐎 𝐓𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘 🌮 🙌🏻
If you are a Mexican food lover, you will agree that there are not many places to enjoy the variety of Tacos. But these Tacos from Flor Mexicana completely changes the entire game.
@flormexicana.tor delivers you a drool worthy experience like never before. It's not just your ordinary cuisine but it's an unforgettable food experience.
