I have been vegan for almost 10 years, and have tried all of the vegan ice creams out there. This is far above any others I have tried! Honeys has incredible texture, is never icy, has incredible & unique flavours and never disappoints. I live 3 hours away, and whenever I am in Toronto I stock up to bring home. Literally a life changer! Can’t tell it’s vegan at all.
Amazing plant-based ice cream. The best I've had, ever - and I've had a LOT of plant-based ice creams. I find a lot of them to have a distinct bitter aftertaste, but Honey's has it PERFECTED. They also have sooo many fun flavours and really generous scoop sizes! I had a single scoop of the blueberry pancake flavour and it was incredible. Had real pancake in there!
I will say though, stay far far away from the everything bagel ice cream haha. Garlic-ey ice-cream has yet to grow on me.
I do not say this lightly. If there could be as many Honey's as there are Tim Horton's this would be a MUCH happier world. The best ice cream I have ever experienced.
Almost never do I say this, but this is cream cannot be improved. It is perfect.
Before this, my favourite vegan ice cream was from a place in the states. Nothing in Toronto reached that level at all for me.
I have only tried two flavours thus far but Honey’s is most likely going to be my favourite vegan ice cream bar none.
I was beyond shocked to find that cashews are the base because every cashew ice-cream I’ve tasted has had a distinct “off” taste to me. Not this whatsoever! It takes like it’s made with real cream. Sooo rich and smooth and creamy! It’s amazing!!!
To the person who perfected this ice-cream..you are an ice-cream master!! Bravo! :)
From everything being made in-house with mostly organic ingredients(including waffle cones), to the huge variety of rotating flavours, to the monthly and sometimes-offbeat seasonal (thanksgiving dinner, chocolate garlic, etc.), to the generous portions and friendly staff, this is everything an ice cream parlour should be. Not to mention the deliciousness.
My only mild criticisms are 1) that a good number of flavours are, at least for me, too sweet to the point of a bellyache from a single scoop, and 2) the pre-suggested tip menu when paying by card. They’re high, and it’s an ice cream shop man, not a bar or diner – unpopular opinion, but even as a former restaurant worker I don’t believe the onus should be put on the customer to pad prices of menu items. Just charge me more for the product. I’m happy to pay its honest worth if I can.
