Colorful little restaurant/market, and that's not a euphemism for anything, the entire interior is splashed with all the colors of the rainbow. The front end of the store is filled with all manner of snacks, the vast majority are things you've probably never seen anywhere else. Once you make it past the racks of brightly packaged foods, you'll find the restaurant area with appetizing food trays. Coming here for the first time reminded me of the dinner scene from Robin Williams' Peter Pan movie, Hook, when he finally starts believing in Neverneverland and is able to see all the wonderful looking foods that the Lost Boys are chowing down on. I wanted to get something interesting looking but my pointing skills aren't the greatest, so I ended up with Pork Adobo instead of the vibrant red & pineapple meat tray behind it. I'm not big on pork at all but this was quite good. It had that dry pork taste that I don't like, but the sauce was fantastic and masked the texture really well. And a few of the pieces still had the fat cap on it, and perfectly rendered too, really quite delicious. The white rice looked plain but ended up being a great partner for the pork chunks. Overall had a very home cooked taste to it; I might not be soo skinny if my parents could cook this well when I was growing up! The sauce really tied everything together, the star of the dish, wouldn't be half as good without it. Whatever you get from here, make sure you get extra gravy poured over top.
Absolutely love this place. They prepare authentic Filipino cuisine, cooked to perfection and reasonably price. There is always a wide variety of Filipino food ready for a quick take out. Everyday, they alternate the menu to avoid selling the same food on a daily basis. They also sell various fresh Filipino food items. Highly recommended.
