The service was excellent but I personally think the main dish was just fine and I expected something better. The appetizers was amazing, I always order chips and cheese at Mexican restaurants and this one is the best i had so far. I think this place would be much more amazing for lunch than dinner.
Love this place. Been here for brunch and most recently for dinner. Service was outstanding, the food absolutely delicious and the presentation, very classy. Cocktails are perfection. Parking is available at the hotel at no cost when dining here. Highly recommend.
We stayed at Hotel X Toronto for a staycation, and our decision to have brunch at the hotel was mainly based on seeing the positive reviews of the food at Roses Cocina. I had high expectations and was not disappointed! The pancakes supreme (lemon ricotta pancakes topped with berry compote, Chantilly cream, and granola) seems to be popular, and there is a reason: they were to die for! The Southern Benny was also delicious, unique, and done well; the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fingerling potatoes were just the right amount of crispy!
In terms of service, our server was polite and helpful, but not particularly attentive considering that it wasn't too busy when we went. The manager, however, was much more on point, checking on us and bringing us whatever we needed. He was also very friendly and personable (kindly chatting with our young children, providing us recommendations for our stay, etc.).
The restaurant space itself is stylishly designed but still comfortable, with lots of booths and plush seating. There is also a wall of windows, letting in lots of natural light in the space.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal at the restaurant and would love to try dinner there some time in the future!
Edit: We recently visited again for a late lunch after visiting SneakerCon, and the rating still stands! The food and service were both great, and we definitely love the ambience there!
One of my favourite places in the city. Location is cool and ambiance is great. The inside was beautifully decorated. Great intimate spot for shareable plates and drinks. Staff was fabulous. Has a great vibe. Sitting at the bar was a wonderful experience, I would love to come back here to just sit at the bar and socialize.
Make reservations because by the time you’re reading this, it will be difficult to get a table.
There is something for everyone. Fresh seafood, fried chicken, a monster burger, or a bright watermelon salad. We went back 3 times in one week and tried 3/4 of the menu and everything is good. The staff is friendly and personable. The management is attentive and supportive. If this restaurant keeps doing what they are doing, the next time I try to go, I won’t be able to get a table.
