Been meaning to try this place since one of my favorite roti spots closed down during the pandemic and I'm glad I did. I ordered the boneless chicken curry in a Paratha wrap and a doubles. The food is very fresh and tasty. It was still hot when I got it home. Paratha was soft and tender, not dry at all. The chicken was tender and the curry had a nice flavor to it. The double was perfect. Not too much filling and the dough was perfectly puffy and light. I ordered it very spicy but it wasn't that spicy. Glad they offered me extra hot sauce on the side. I'm guessing they thought I was a rookie and decided to go easy on me just in case. Also, the customer service was top-notch, very friendly and helpful. All in all a very good experience and I'll be ordering from them again in the future.
Been to this place twice now and you already know it was for the doubles.
Doubles are tasteful, pepper be kicking just right and the overall vibe of the restaurant is impeccable. A small yet homey feeling type of joint.
They got all kind of beverages for everyone’s tastes and mood your in for (my preference an Apple J or peardrax with a medium hot double).
Also the lady at the front very friendly and has a real inviting and sociable personality!
Got two orders of Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas ($13.99 each). You have the option of getting stew sauce or curry sauce drizzled over, so I got one each. Also got a double ($2.99) which came with a hot sauce on the side. Took 15 mins to prepare and service was punctual, and also nice and friendly!
The chicken and rice was very good. The jerk chicken was smoky and well seasoned the rice and peas was good even just by itself, especially with the sauce (both stew and curry were equally good). The meat to rice ratio felt a bit low for the price but still acceptable. What really could have elevated the dish is including a salad or coleslaw.
The double was probably the best I’ve ever had! Had the right amount of filling, the right sweetness to it, the perfect Caribbean-style hot sauce to pair with it and was also very fairly priced to boot. Definitely get this if you plan on visiting!
When you walk in and see Tunnock’s Caramel Wafers, you know it’s gonna be legit. Usually get my fix down at ACR close to work, but now we have a beauty spot walking distance. Ordered the regular doubles and saheena, my go to items and both were made to order and DELICIOUS. Also tried a new dish for me, the pepper roti pie which was absolutely superb. Get them “heavy” for maximum flavour. Will be back for sure, possibly later today lol.
