Lots of options with fresh and frozen items. Wish they were open for longer hours.
Volunteered here a couple of times and you get to appreciate what they do in the community by providing meal boxes and groceries to the needy all over the GTA. An awesome team of workers and volunteers
Good social distancing inside main building, if you're looking to donate, drive a bit further on New Toronto street to Gate 2, there are four boxes to drop all donations off.
Good system in place and they have been great helping others throughout the pandemic. The number system is ok ( but the shopping) is hard for disabled, so boxes were a good idea. I do have a suggestion though, you could really give more variety/choice to a smaller family units. The big families seem to get "the good stuff" and don't we all deserve equal food quality and variety? Thanking all the volunteers who care and help at the center, sending best wishes to all the godhearted people who work there, and put in their time, energy and effort to help others.
Thank you food hanks for supporting the communities. I called 211 to get help during the pandemic, was given information to get help but none materialized except for the food banks. Other community services did not return calls nor turned me away, while food banks welcome anyone. It is where government funding should go to, rather than those big charities paying their staff fat cheques but when you call them you won't get any help at all.
