Historic Tavern Meal
Saturday, February 8, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The Inn’s Winterlicious event is a typical 19th-century tavern meal in an 1840’s Toronto tavern. Served family-style at communal tables, guests will begin with Thomas Montgomery’s peppermint shrub cocktail, then enjoy artisan cheese and fresh baked bread, a variety of pickled and preserved vegetables, hardy meat and potatoes and a selection of historic desserts, all prepared according to authentic early Victorian recipes. Richard Fiennes-Clinton, author of Muddy York, will speak about the history of Inns in early Toronto.
Admission: $35 + HST.
Wednesday afternoon 2-6 farmer's market. Bought pieces of cooked sea bass, chicken and sausage plus fresh bread, Christmas Cake, etc all home made. We look forward to our awesome Wednesday night dinners.
Very cool historic site - lots of awesome stories about the early Toronto lifestyle. Staff is very knowledgeable, and their events are awesome! Definitely check them out on the last Thursday of the month (live music, roaring fire, historic food and drink, and an atmosphere that will make your heart glow!!)
Superb place to visit. Plenty of parking, affordable, knowledgeable staff. Neat community programs too! If you enjoy local history lessons, I recommend a visit!
