What can you say....
If it's 2am it's a great way to get around the city. The 401 is extremely busy all day including weekends. There is no such thing as rush hour . Be prepared to spend 90min to 2hr to get across town. What used to be a 15min drive is now an hour thanks to poor urban/ infrastructure planning.
Great highway that intersects with DVP/404, 400, 427 etc. It is also a good alternative to the express toll route 407. There are plenty of Enroutes on this highway beyond both the East and West side of Toronto. Also, the view of 401 on Don Mills Road is absolutely spectacular!
The 401 in the GTA is well maintained but there is always heavy traffic during business hours. We need to invest more into our infrastructure. The 407 is a good alternate but at what cost?
