Let's be real that any court house isn't usually pleasant to go to. The staff that I've dealt with, while not the most friendly, were professional and provided good information or recommendations. I can understand why, this is not a coffee shop after all.
It's on the 3rd floor and as you exit the elevator banks, you hang a left to ask the person t the information counter if they can take care of your reason for being there or not. If not, the person will give you a number and you'll need to wait for your turn to go in to a booth and speak with staff inside. Submitting the usual like a claim form, defence form, affidavits, photocopies, usually the person at the info counter can stamped those as received and you're on your way.
I think it would help everyone if the online filing system is improved. While you can file a claim online, serving defendants, filing affidavits, etc are still all done in person and as such are very manual in nature. If we can carry out financial matters online then for small claims, hopefully they can do the same thing.
