Hidden gem in the Bay and Wellesley area. Super friendly staff with great suggestions. Food is fresh, fast, and full of flavour. Will definitely come back!
Let me preface this by saying that I'm a huge fan of Thai food and I've been to more than a dozen Thai restaurants in Toronto.
I've never seen boat noodles anywhere else and the taste is very unique: the broth offers bags of flavour with the fragrant punch of lemongrass, cilantro, and a rich beef stock. Ordering takeout was a delight because I got to add all the toppings in one by one - I especially enjoyed the "theater" of the fried pork rind crackling as it made contact with the hot broth. Everything in the bowl was a party in my mouth!
I also got a side of shrimp dumplings. It was tasty and on the plump side, but at 3 for $6 I found it a bit steep. I probably won't get anymore sides here because of the price, but the mains are bang on.
The food here is amazing and authentic! I ordered a vegan green curry dish and it was delicious! I’ve been to other Thai restaurants and their green curry dishes are super thick and filling, whereas the curry fish at Thai boat tastes fresh and surprisingly healthy! I would definitely recommend people to come here!
Fresh rolls are some of the best I've ever had. Sauce that pairs with it has a jerk like flavour which is intriguing and pairs nicely. The boat noodle soup is both flavourful and an interesting piece of thai history. It was a pleasure to experience, would highly recommend to others.
Ordered a green curry to-go, the spicy level is good and tasted very authentic! $13 is not a bad deal but I wish they give more vegetables. Most of what you see in photos are spice leafs and I can only find 2 small diced bell pepper. I think the amount of chicken is fair, so far not much to complain, the staff is friendly, price isn’t crazy high consider its downtown. Will come again and try other stuff.
