Beautiful French style bistro in the distillery district. Went there for brunch and had the shrimp and avocado eggs Benedict which was delicious. The service was very prompt even as the restaurant was getting busy towards the end. The menu isn’t huge but it is varied enough to find something for everyone. A kids menu is also available. The prices are a bit high. $16 for a mimosa for instance but this bistro is so beautiful that it’s worth it. There’s also an oyster bar as well as an incredible amount of pastries baked fresh daily. Reservations would be a good idea as this is quite a popular place.
What a lovely dining experience. French cuisine....and I do mean cuisine. The menu was lovely, the food presented as if art and each plate was a symphony of flavor.
The atmosphere on the patio was particularly lovely with thousands of pin lights surrounding the walls and arch shape ceiling.
Amazing - a must visit for lovers of pastry and coffee alike.
The savoury pastry was delicious (tried a beef tourtiere and a mushroom quiche), but these were only a sideshow next to the rum chocolate croissant and cafe mocha we had. Normally a cafe mocha is my go-to drink when it comes to getting less than you hoped for. Dare I say Cluny exceeded expectations here?
Will definitely try the restaurant if we're back in Toronto. If you like French pastry or Italian coffee do yourself a favour and try this place.
We came with a reservation for a party of 12 but had to wait about 15 min to seat 2 members because the restaurant miscalculated how long other patrons would be seated. Not a great start to the evening. Service was also excruciatingly slow. The table was void of drinks and bread for an unusual amount of time and appetizers came slow... We had placed our orders around 7:30pm and main course showed up around 9:10pm. The restaurant was gracious enough to provide dessert on the house and did a great job accommodating allergies/food restrictions. But by the time bills were paid and we got out of there, it was almost 10:30pm.
I understand big parties are a challenge to accommodate, but perhaps there should be a cap on party size as a result. This is a big restaurant as it is! At least dishes arrived together (although warmth was sacrificed) and were delicious.
