Hey that's from Razzberry Jazzberry Jam Season 2 Episode 10 & 13
Great school, great memories here. Have worked summer time here, as a teenager, hired directly from the TBSB! Would recommend sending kids here. Close to malls, amenities, public transportation etc.
I am now in the eighth grade – 2017 and I love the school if you do come to the school you should definitely join the strings program
This school was a fairly good place to attend. The teachers and students were friendly, there was no bullying, ect. The only reasons as to why I gave this three stars is because of the system/how they run things. Now, before you continue reading this please know that I left this school around 2012-2013 and went to attend a different school so I am not positive that these things are thing going on.
To begin, lunchtime. Now the lunchtime routine at my current school is simple, just walk to the lunch room, eat and then go out and play with your friends for half an hour. The routine at Dovercourt was much more complex and tiring. Before lunch, ALL the students from grade 1 to (I believe) grade 5 would line up in this long line in the basement hallway. Then, what happened is the lunch supervisor would do a head count? Was this really necessary? It seems like a waste of time to me.
After that, we would all go sit down at our tables. The lunchroom was the old gym in the basement. I found this is a very small and dirty space. When you look up at the windows, you can see trillions of dust particles. There was constantly this odor in the 'lunchroom' which was sickening. I find it hard to believe that this place was ever mopped or cleaned in general. This was such a small space to fit a couple hundred students, and there was barley any room at a table to fit one class. Most of the time, when there is no space left available, the remaining students would be seated isolated from their friends and classmates. I thought lunchtime was supposed to be a break from your studies so you can eat and socialize? I am a strong believer that students should be allowed to socialize with their friends during school to keep their minds healthy and happy, especially during lunchtime and/or your free time, but no! Instead of trying to make room or pull up a chair at the end of the table, the students are seated at the corner of the lunchroom to quietly eat lunch by themselves.
Not only that but god forbid you make the lunch supervisor angry, you would be seated on the cold, dusty floor to eat your lunch. Is this really how you treat your students?!
Overall, it was a DECENT school, nothing to get excited about. I learned most of the things I know now from my current school, not Dovercourt. I don't remember anything that I learned from Dovercourt that was even currently useful. Thank you for looking over my review and please think twice before sending your child to this school.
This school is the best and I have tuns of friends
