I frequent the King St Location but went here for a change. To my disappointment, the quality of the sandwiches here is really lacking. The Tuscan Chicken Sandwich I was served had a single piece of grape, no salad leaves, and no hint of orange that the other location put in. A huge disappointment, as that was my favorite thing to get from Forno Cultura...
A loaf of bread that I got also had been sitting next to the cold winds from the open door and was hard and tough as a result.
The pastries were fine.
Although I would not return for the food from this location, the lady helping me was very good. She knew exactly what I wanted when I asked or didn't ask, and was eager in disposition.
I love this place, especially their bread, lattes and sandwiches. The only reason I am rating 4/5 is I have gone several times and there is one employee who is wearing a clear face mask that is NOT effective at preventing covid19 spread and NOT recommended according to Public Health. If they can fix this issue, I would provide a 5/5 review.
This is a great spot for lunch or breakfast with delicious sandwiches on sale. Fresh baked bread for sale aswell along with a great selection of Italian goods like olive oil, chillies in oil, fruit preserves, a selection of different honeys and many more. Staff is very helpful and the coffee is great too! Oh and did I mention they do wonderful pastries aswell. This place has it all!
I bought a foccaccia, meat calzone sandwich which were both awesome. Rum baba was flavorful and had a nice rum kick to it. The sponge was nicely soaked with some sort of orange flavor to it. Paris brest was good too had a nice texture filled with some peach sort of compote. The arrancini was good. Although everything was great, the cashier who rang in my order grabbed the foccaccia by the part exposed instead of grabbing it by the wrapped part. She seemed upset when we called her out on it and didn't replace it. Who knows what she's touched being in the cashier section with covid happening.
This place is truly a gem in the city. The coffee is second to none, the food is delicious and the service is unparalleled. My partner and I go here almost every single day (sometimes twice a day!) and have had an amazing experience every time.
I would also like to call out Anna in particular who is above and beyond delightful every time we go. Also worth noting that all of the staff is great, we just happen to interact with Anna the most!
10/10 would highly recommend.
