(May 27, 2018, 10:34 pm)Nice combined cycle generation station, two natural gas units with one steam unit. It is in the middle of the heavy toronto loads so it is perfect for grid reliability... fast to get them online 10 mins as I heared from the operating manager
(June 15, 2015, 3:26 pm)This is the modern replacement to the R L Hearn Generating Station which sits just next door. The chimney of Hearn is one of the tallest in Canada and is visible from many places in the city. It was also the exterior of the Elsinore brewery in the movie Strange Brew. But enough about it's famous retired neighbour. Let's hope the Portlands Energy Centre helps keep Toronto going while being efficient and caring for the environment.
