Reconnect Community Health Services

I just want to start off by saying that the Staff at Reconnect at the Algie St. location are absolutely amazing! I was a resident at the house for roughly a month and everything about the house was incredible! I did not expect the house to be as comfortable as it was upon entering. I walked in and was given a tour and I almost teared up because I felt so grateful. I had a bedroom to myself that was very well put together, warm, clean and had a very comfortable bed. There are multiple showers all over the house that are even handicap friendly. The house also never runs out of hot water! There are computers for the clients to access the internet as well as a very comfortable area to sit and watch TV as well to get to know the other clients in the house. The food in the house was also absolutely amazing. There are fresh very high quality food brought in everyday catering style and each and everyday we were surprised with an amazing meal. In addition, there was plenty of fresh, raw ingredients available for the chance to get comfortable in a kitchen again and learn to cook for ourselves. The house seemed to be set up in a way that us clients, learn to once again take care of ourselves in a home environment. The staff are all so friendly and they always make themselves available to the clients to assist them in whatever needs or resources they need to start moving forward. The amount of resources and community programs that Reconnect staff help you access is truly amazing. I came to the house post incarceration and never expected to get on my feet as fast as I did. It was a daily struggle but I was constantly being motivated by both clients and staff in the house to meet daily and weekly goals. EVERY STAFF MEMBER IN THE HOUSE ARE AMAZING ! I can only imagine how tough it is for the staff to deal with us clients some times and the amount of guidance and understanding that is shown is something really special.
Thank you KAREN for keeping the house in amazing order and constantly being on top of everything. You are always looking for ways to improve the house and our stay. You seem to always keep everyone grounded and the other staff really on their toes. I will never forget the talk we had and how you always helped me. I hope to see you again one day.
