My partner and I are big fans of The Ace! Before the pandemic, we'd go weekly for weekend brunch and/or dinner (their steak frites are the best in the city IMO).
The location is cozy and charming, the staff is friendly and welcoming but the biggest draw is the amazing food. We've never been displeased with a meal here (seriously their brunch, guys.... get the croque madame or the fried chicken + johnnycakes... both are life-changing) and they always have fun cocktails (also a long list of mocktails for anyone who doesn't drink!) They've been closed for the last four months because of COVID, but I thought I'd come leave a well-deserved 5* review to let them know we still love them and can't wait for them to open up again!!
Fried Chicken in the club is amazing. Always love the Turkey burger when they have it on the menu. Local favourite with excellent food, and beers!!
The food was fantastic, great Brunch! The dish I ordered had plain scrambled eggs and they accommodated me wanting to add chorizo to them no problem. It is a small place so you will most likely have to wait but it's a great time to walk, grab a coffee while you wait. Highly recommend and will most definitely be back!
Stumbled upon The Ace by accident the first time I visited Toronto, and it instantly became one of my favourite spots in the city. Every time I have gone back to Toronto, I have made it a necessity to go back. The food is diverse and exquisite while the selection of cocktails and wine is eclectic and well-crafted.
The cauliflowers was interesting, love it! The Duck yolk ravioli was good as well, the side broccoli was juicy e and with a great texture. The daily soup was super frustrating, tasted like a beets and carrots puree with any flavor, nothing special, like baby food. Service was perfect.
