The Artful Child

The Artful Child is an amazing preschool filled with compassion, creativity, care, inspiration and full support for children to be their full selves! My daughter has been attending for the past year and feels completely confident in the space and loves the freedom to try new arts projects and explore through the various arts mediums provided. Jessie and Alanna are incredibly responsive to each child's needs and have made my daughter feel so welcomed, so at home and so supported! She loves learning and playing with them! I highly recommend the Artful Child!

The Artful Child is is one of the most magical places that I've experienced for my children. Immediately upon entering, there is an instant feeling of calm and joy and inspiration. The children are free to explore their own creativity through a vast variety of art based activities. The staff are beyond incredible and meet each child where they are at, allowing the kids here to develop and gain their confidence in the most beautiful way. It is so amazing to have such a special place where my kids can explore the world of art in their own unique ways and I don't have to do any of the clean up!! I simply get to enjoy their finished pieces and their beaming smiles of pride for their work. It is such an awesome place. I am so happy that I discovered it and I highly highly recommend The Artful Child for their pre-school program, after school programs and camps!

I have not come across another preschool quite like The Artful Child. My son has been attending for only a few months, but already I can see how the experience has totally opened his world - he has discovered the magic of creating artwork, and developed a new confidence that can only come from being independent & meeting new friends, while a safe and highly nurturing environment. Teachers Jessie and Alanna are clearly exceptional educators (as well as human beings) and they create such a warm, positive and calm energy for all the kids. My son is already so fond of them both, telling us endless stories about them and rest of his "Artful" friends throughout the rest of the week. I feel so lucky to have found this gem of a school, and so grateful that he will continue to have the opportunity to learn, grow and develop there next fall. Thank you so much Jessie and Alanna for everything you do for our little people!

The artful child is the most accepting and welcoming place for young kids/families.we drive from mimico to attend. We’ve been with the artful child since my oldest was 3, 3 years ago and it has been nothing but amazing. We have had the same teachers from the beginning and my 6 year old still loves coming for the after school program and she does summer camps. My toddler will definitely be joining when he’s 18months. My family now has the most amazing pieces the kids have made and it’s total open ended and a free space for them to express their love for art. Recommend 100%.

This has been the most incredible experience for my little guy. He paints, he builds, he sings and most of all, he feels safe and happy! The culture of this lovely little school is laid back and all about the well-being of the kids. My son was very young when he started and he was very apprehensive. Jessica and Alanna were instrumental in making him feel safe and comfortable and gave him the confidence to take part in music and circle time and other group activities. Now, he honestly can't wait to go to school in the mornings.

Now that he's starting JK in the fall we have to say goodbye to this serious gem of a preschool, I wanted to share with other moms in the hood in case they were in search of a program like this. My only regret is that I didn't know about it for my first two kids!
