Not bad at all. Quick service, but a bit expensive.
Got my film camera back from repairs in May and it is broken again in August. Although the repair they did fixed the problem I was experiencing, I wish that they had done a more complete job of assessing and repairing the camera so that I wouldn't have to be taking it in again with a new problem just a few months later.
I definitely recommend this place, and they did 5 star work! The reason I gave a 4-star is because I found the actual customer service left me nervous moving forward.
Without all the details, I had dropped off the flash 5 weeks before a major photography trip. I was told the estimate would be available a week to a week and half, but 2 weeks later I had to call and asked if information would be available soon. I was deciding between fixing the flash thinking it was a quick fix - broken mount, otherwise perfect condition - or just taking it on the tip as is and using it as a wireless unit.
They did call back later that day giving the estimate and saying what needed to be done. I was really on the fence and initially declined thinking a parts order would take forever to come in. This is where I felt the customer service was lacking, as I tried to ask questions about how long until the part comes in or more details and I was met with the standard "we won't know until we order, and we won't order until you agree." I didn't feel confident with the timeline, so I declined. After a quick phone call to a partner, we decided it was better to just fix the thing, even if I couldn't bring it.
So I called back and was met with completely understandable worry from the service. After a quick warning of payment liability (since I flip-flopped) we went ahead. Only 3 days later the unit was fixed and was ready to go. I happily picked it up and it is working perfectly and I am excited to have it with me!
Like I said, 5 star service!!!! But there was no confidence in that decision moment. Mind you I was in a bit of a bind, normally I can afford to not worry about that. But the fact that they were so vague, and yet were able to actually get it so fast leaves me wondering.
Regardless, I will definitely be using this service again. Just ask all the questions you need to feel confident in your repair.
