Not only did Derek make sure I understand the process but his measurements were spot on!

Indochino is lucky to have such a passionate employee with vast knowledge, humor and imppacible measuring skills.

I will be be coming back to Derek in the near future again and will definitely recommend him to anybody who will ask where I got such an awesome suit.

I think it's important to preface my review by saying, this was my first custom-suit shopping/ tailored-to-fit experience, ever.

Prior to my purchase at Indochino on Saturday, I would often buy my suits (with great difficulty mind you) off the rack from some department store or one-size-fits-all retailer. Suits were really not a staple of my wardrobe, as I don't tend to wear them for work or social events.

However, after my experience with Derek K, I don't think I can ever go back to a world of off-the-rack suits and moreover, I'm actually excited to incorporate more of his recommendations into my wardrobe!

I went into Indochino at STC, after having looked at the website for a few minutes and having a vague idea of the type of suit I wanted for my sister's upcoming wedding.

Much to my surprise however, there was So. Much. More to buying a suit than just fabric and colour and it's clear to see how it could be very overwhelming, without the aid of a professional style guide. Especially for a first-timer like myself.

On the day of, my sister and mother tagged-along, in what I can only describe as a reverse episode of Say Yes to the Dress. I thought they could offer some insight, as I didn't want my suit to be similar to that of my sister's groomsmen. However in reality, they were there in a more supervisory capacity (and consequently very opinionated).

Walking into the store we were met by Derek, who not only had the most chipper disposition, but was also wearing an impeccably tailored, envy-inducing suit himself. Very dapper!

To say Derek is knowledgeable and passionate would be an understatement. He was able to explain every customization and every component of the suit construction with a mix of personal anecdote, historical context and couture insight. Not only was he always prepared with an explanation, but he also had great suggestions at the ready, and really empowered me to be firm with my decisions, especially when my tag-along entourage were debating what would look better. The man is a legend.

After a very quick hour of customizations, measurements and good laughs, I feel very confident that we built the right suit for me, and I'm very much looking forward to when my outfit arrives in 10-14 business days.

I will definitely be back and will be recommending Derek, as well as Indochino to all my friends and family.
