Really good food and amazing for share plates.
Do not leave tips on the bill tray. Give it to your server instead. Otherwise you'll be tipping the owner instead!

The food and service is quite good. My only complaint is that the space is cramped and it does get quite stuffy in there.

Great food with lot of choices and reasonable price. That's why it's always busy. Space is a bit tight and tables are very close to each other. If your concern is good food and don't mind sitting very close to people you don't know. This is a great place to eat.

Update January 2019: Mr Congee still has good food and has improved service too to a level where everyone can feel more comfortable. Prices have edged up but it's still good value for your money so keeps on being a go to spot for Cantonese dining. Enjoy!

Consistently good Cantonese style Chinese cuisine for reasonable prices. Clearly has the approval of the crowds of Chinese families who will wait in line to get in. And me too!

Seating is a bit tight but it's bright inside and the decor has been updated so I don't mind. And at busy times the background noise of lots of people chatting and enjoying their meal out means that you too will have to speak up but it's part of the vibe and experience. Parking is free and easy since the restaurant is part of Bridlewood Mall.

I usually order the chili turnip cubes, house (eel) fried rice, lobster with silverfish (white anchovies), snow pea leaves, green beans and Chinese BBQ pork. Other dishes have been good too. Dessert (changes night to night) is free with your dinner order when seated in the restaurant so make sure to ask for it.

Quick service but generally it is up to you to get a waitress' attention. And they may not all be fluent in English but why let that hinder your dining?
